I want to compel every last doomsday prepper and wanna be doomsday prepper to take and pass enough college coursework related to crisis response that the can write up for me a detailed recovery plan for a midsized business. Then they can take their new skillset and apply it to their doomsday prep. They should also take enough security courses to do half decent threat analysis. At least then when I get stuck listening to the current paranoia of the week, the response plans might be educational. Incompetent paranoia is tedious and offends me.
Life itself was a lightsaber in his hands; even in the face of treachery and death and hopes gone cold, he burned like a candle in the darkness. Like a star shining in the black eternity of space.
Yoda: Dark Rendezvous
"But those men who know anything at all about the Light also know that there is a fierceness to its power, like the bare sword of the law, or the white burning of the sun." Suddenly his voice sounded to Will very strong, and very Welsh. "At the very heart, that is. Other things, like humanity, and mercy, and charity, that most good men hold more precious than all else, they do not come first for the Light. Oh, sometimes they are there; often, indeed. But in the very long run the concern of you people is with the absolute good, ahead of all else..."
John Rowlands, The Grey King by Susan Cooper
"You come from the Lord Adam and the Lady Eve", said Aslan. "And that is both honour enough to erect the head of the poorest beggar, and shame enough to bow the shoulders of the greatest emperor on earth; be content."
yo thats super cool! how did that end up happening?
They moaned and squealed, and pressed their snouts to the earth. We are sorry, we are sorry.
Sorry you were caught, I said. Sorry that you thought I was weak, but you were wrong.

I'm doing an art trade with an artist in Ontario, and as an extra little gift she decided to draw a picture of me and throw it in. Totally unexpected. I can't wait to get my art in the mail.
I'm thinking about making a professional Facebook account for myself. Not sure if I am going to do it yet. It's not going to be like my personal one with all these memes and shit. Going to show off my school work and professional work. Things like that.

I got a temp job for 8 days at Kroger's as a sanitizer through an employment agency. It's for $13.00 an hour and 3:00pm-10:00pm, but I can always see about doing overtime. Overtime is time and a half. Eight days of work is something. If I do good then they will probably offer me another temp job. It will be a hard eight days, but it's worth it.

But they were doughnuts of darkness. Evil damned doughnuts, tainted by the spawn of darkness.... Which could obviously only be redeemed by passing through the fiery inferno of my digestive tract.

Thinkin I should hop in and say hi. Maybe post some pics of the kids later, you know stuff.
Howdy!
Sounds spiffy!
Every moment of a life is a horrible tragedy, a slapstick comedy, dark nihilism, golden illumination, or nothing at all; depending on how we write the story we tell ourselves.

Welcome back!

Unemployment is finally coming through. Which is a relief.
We just had to do a clothing run for the infant (thank you, resale stores willing to do door pickup) because our 9.5 mo old is outgrowing her 12 mo clothes and that's as far as we were prepared for. So she's now going into 18mo stuff.
The monster (6yo) is homeschooling now, which is kinda weird because I had prepped to homeschool her but life happened and she ended up in public school, and now I'm actually using that stuff, but trying to figure out where she was in school so we aren't doing just review.
I'm officiating a wedding in the 20th, which is going to be extra odd. They're doing it over Zoom, and literally the only people physically present will be myself, the couple, and their witnesses. And we're all keeping an appropriate physical distance.
We are what we are. Nothing more, nothing less. There is good and evil among every kind of people. It's the evil among us who rule now. -Anne Bishop, Daughter of the Blood
I wondered if he could ever understand that it was a blessing, not a sin, to be graced with more than one love.
It could be complicated; of course it could be complicated. And it opened one up to the possibility of more pain and loss.
Still, it was a blessing I would never relinquish. Love, genuine love, was always a cause for joy.
