It's a really, really cool thing, to be able to show people that you can be yourself, and you should be proud of yourself, and you should own who you are and what you're about, and never make apologies for it.

Every moment of a life is a horrible tragedy, a slapstick comedy, dark nihilism, golden illumination, or nothing at all; depending on how we write the story we tell ourselves.
Hello. I'm fairly new to being pagan and haven't really found myself yet. I grew up Irish Catholic, became atheist in high school when one of my nieces died of SIDS, and discovered real paganism when I met my future wife. That was my religious upbringing in a nutshell, ^_^. We haven't really been good pagans these past few years after we married, more worried about what were doing with money and where were going to live, but i feel like that should change now. We've both been lost, and now I want us to find a good place in life for us, spiritually as well as physically. Basically what I'm trying to say is that were going to be moving soon to a town that wont burn us at the stake if we were to mention our beliefs, and I would like to have a place here to ask questions on the things that I would like to believe in. I haven't found a god or goddess yet, but i do believe in the spirit of the world around us. I love crystals and gemstones, not just cause they're shiny, although that does help. I believe every gemstone and crystal and rock that i hold in my hand has as much personality and spirit in them as us, they just need someone to believe in them. I would also like to learn how to use the tarot card deck that my wife got me as a present, I've looked through it, but i don't know if i'm supposed to cleanse them or just use them until they know me. Well that's a lot of space that I took up for a intro, and i hope no one is getting the ban catapult ready on me after reading this. If so, the nice to meet you all and i hope its a nice flight. ^_^
Hello. I'm Shawn and I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm here to hopefully learn more about being a good pagan. I grew up Irish Catholic, became atheist after one of my nieces died of SIDS when i was in high school. About three years ago I met my future wife and she began to teach me what paganism is. She was just a student also, so our learning has had its ups and downs. For a year now we've been living in her hometown, which is scary, right-wing and hickish, no place for a liberal pagan to be. Were moving soon to a bigger town and I'm hoping that we can finally have a little freedom to be who we are. So there we are, I'm here to learn and talk to people with a common interest, and i hope that I can be of some use to anyone else here. Hasta!
Hi there and welcome to the forum! Please don't hesitate to ask us if you have any questions, and roam around the board a bit. Is your wife planning on joining as well?

There once was a man who said though,
It seems that I know that I know,
What I'd like to see,
Is the I that knows me,
When I know that I know that I know.
