    Hello everyone!

Hello, all. My name is Michael. I am a 24 year old German American, an animist, a hard polytheist, and primarily a solitary practitioner of reconstructionist-derived heathenry. I am looking forward to reading more of this forum and learning from other members.

I do have a question to kick off my membership here: what do members think of worshiping deities from two distinct, mostly unrelated pantheons? I've lived in India for several years now, and I spent most of that time studying and practicing Hinduism before coming to heathenry. I consider myself a heathen first, as that is my heritage. But I am also considering worshiping various Hindu Gods, too. Of course, I would never mix the two. I'd worship heathen Gods in a heathen manner, and Hindu Gods in a Hindu manner. So I'd like to know what members' thoughts are on that? Does anyone here do it (even with different pantheons)?

    Take care.

    Howdy there, spiritsofsolace!

    Welcome to the monkey house!

On worshiping deities from different pantheons: it's been discussed many times - if you do a search, you'll find mucho opinions.

My personal opinion is this - if you believe in multiple deities, the more the merrier. If you take them as real, literal entities, they'll tell you if they don't like mixing with others. If they don't complain, don't worry!
Every moment of a life is a horrible tragedy, a slapstick comedy, dark nihilism, golden illumination, or nothing at all; depending on how we write the story we tell ourselves.

      Welcome!

Personally, I see the truth as beyond our ability to encompass, so we break it down in a way that works, generally, to our betterment. If the way that works for you is to draw from multiple pantheons, then there is nothing wrong with that. So long as it feels right and is in your best interest, however you practice is right.

I wondered if he could ever understand that it was a blessing, not a sin, to be graced with more than one love.
It could be complicated; of course it could be complicated. And it opened one up to the possibility of more pain and loss.
Still, it was a blessing I would never relinquish. Love, genuine love, was always a cause for joy.
