You can both be glad you're not in northern Michigan. The good thing is it might be snow shoein' time soon.
Every moment of a life is a horrible tragedy, a slapstick comedy, dark nihilism, golden illumination, or nothing at all; depending on how we write the story we tell ourselves.
As a rule, if one is going to bitch about not being able to do enough in a game then
1) They should not be using the most lethal member of the party.
2) Should not be attempting to kill directly or indirectly the other characters.
3) Try and tell other players how to play.
If the primary storyteller lets me get away with using an NPC to implant a kill switch in your character to keep you from trying to betray the party then you are fucking up.
Life itself was a lightsaber in his hands; even in the face of treachery and death and hopes gone cold, he burned like a candle in the darkness. Like a star shining in the black eternity of space.
Yoda: Dark Rendezvous
"But those men who know anything at all about the Light also know that there is a fierceness to its power, like the bare sword of the law, or the white burning of the sun." Suddenly his voice sounded to Will very strong, and very Welsh. "At the very heart, that is. Other things, like humanity, and mercy, and charity, that most good men hold more precious than all else, they do not come first for the Light. Oh, sometimes they are there; often, indeed. But in the very long run the concern of you people is with the absolute good, ahead of all else..."
John Rowlands, The Grey King by Susan Cooper
"You come from the Lord Adam and the Lady Eve", said Aslan. "And that is both honour enough to erect the head of the poorest beggar, and shame enough to bow the shoulders of the greatest emperor on earth; be content."
Now that my long sermon is over, don't get caught.

Masked, that reminds me of a dude who was in my old gaming group. We called him "Lord Destructo", because he always seemed to be doing his damnedest to kill his character, and take other characters down with him. When he showed up to game, the GM would do everything possible to put his character away from the group.
I've been lucky. This is the first time I've had to deal with a player that had no interest whatsoever in actually fitting his character into the storyline. I'm more lucky in that the Storyteller has agreed that if matters don't change soon then the problem player is gone. It was something of an accidental Christmas present because I thought the guy was only really annoying me. Found out tonight that no, he's pissing off the storyteller and the other original player for this campaign.

I have a friend who is treating their significant others very badly. A friend who has flirted with me before, and I was becoming rather fond of, with the understanding that everything was above board and good communication was the norm.
It's a good thing there is currently 500 miles between me and them, or else I'd be tempted to knock some heads together over this caddish behavior.
