I once worked 364 days in a row. Had Christmas off. That is what inspired me to rethink my education.
Every moment of a life is a horrible tragedy, a slapstick comedy, dark nihilism, golden illumination, or nothing at all; depending on how we write the story we tell ourselves.
Never worked that but i'll see your 9 days with customers and raise you 14 to 21 days straight with parents...
I just stopped here. You can have that little corner of hell. I'm not in. Parents are those fun people who completely forget they have any responsibility regarding their children until I tell their kids to stop abusing store property and then they remember their responsibilities just long enough to bitch at me for protecting property I'm responsible for before going back to letting their spawn roam freely. You can have them. I don't want to deal with them. I'll stick to other variants of hell.
Life itself was a lightsaber in his hands; even in the face of treachery and death and hopes gone cold, he burned like a candle in the darkness. Like a star shining in the black eternity of space.
Yoda: Dark Rendezvous
"But those men who know anything at all about the Light also know that there is a fierceness to its power, like the bare sword of the law, or the white burning of the sun." Suddenly his voice sounded to Will very strong, and very Welsh. "At the very heart, that is. Other things, like humanity, and mercy, and charity, that most good men hold more precious than all else, they do not come first for the Light. Oh, sometimes they are there; often, indeed. But in the very long run the concern of you people is with the absolute good, ahead of all else..."
John Rowlands, The Grey King by Susan Cooper
"You come from the Lord Adam and the Lady Eve", said Aslan. "And that is both honour enough to erect the head of the poorest beggar, and shame enough to bow the shoulders of the greatest emperor on earth; be content."
I'm starting to wonder if practicing religion now can make a profound difference on my health and anxiety, rather than waiting for my health and anxiety to get better before diving into it.
I have found the most beautiful stick for a staff. It's a dead maple sapling that was standing up in the forest. I grabbed it and it came off really easily, with a cool flourish at the end. I need to pick up some sandpaper, boiled linseed oil later, and some kind of cordage.
They moaned and squealed, and pressed their snouts to the earth. We are sorry, we are sorry.
Sorry you were caught, I said. Sorry that you thought I was weak, but you were wrong.

First get over the anxiety, then continue with your spiritual life. Otherwise it can only get worse.

Glad to see you here, Corvus!

Since I adore cats, I might write something strange or unusual in my comment.Cats are awesome!!! ^_^
Resistance is futile. I have connected the air conditioner.

Kind of depends on the practice and the cause of anxiety. Meditation may be a good idea, large skyclad rituals may not be. Utilizing incense or essential oils may be helpful to lower stress, mindfulness, practicing a certain thing on certain days (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, etc...) if it's low-key may help with building internal structure.
But still, don't use religion as a band-aid for professional assistance.

I started playing Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines again.

This is premo advice. I had to get professional assistance before I could even think about returning to meditation.
There are all kinds of useful things in the world, but for troubling medical problems the best first go-to is modern medicine, despite all the poop people will try to feed you about big pharma conspiracies and similar shit.
Honest. I swear on that, and on the potential effectiveness of dealing with high anxiety and deep depression via real MD doctors.

This.
Though religious practices may offer a structure and framework that (depending on one's exact issues) can help quell anxiety issues in some people. Sharkbait has fairly profound anxiety issues; but there's only one medication approved for minions of his stature and age, and while it helps, its exactly a magic bullet...and he's not really at the conversational level or internal awareness level where he can communicate (if he could even identify) what is going on inside his head. For us, meditation (really just quiet time with breathing and a pretty story and some yoga), along with some other stuff (drawing how he feels, running around time, keeping to a set schedule, taking the time to reflect on the day, etc) probably does as much to keep him on an even keel as the meds. Certain daily rituals (thought not explicitly religious ones) act as touchstones for the structure he needs to feel safe.
(don't get me wrong, I am in no way saying religion should REPLACE medical treatment ever!!)

This is what I mean. Having that structure for internal security can sometimes help. But it won't work alone to resolve all issues and for that doctors are a good thing.
By popular demands.... It's pronounced Alto-mesa-yok. Or at least that's how I pronounce it.
