“You have never answered but you did not need to. If I stand at the ocean I can hear you with your thousand voices. Sometimes you shout, hilarious laughter that taunts all questions. Other nights you are silent as death, a mirror in which the stars show themselves. Then I think you want to tell me something, but you never do. Of course I know I have written letters to no-one. But what if I find a trident tomorrow?" ~~Letters to Poseidon, Cees Nooteboom

“We still carry this primal relationship to the Earth within our consciousness, even if we have long forgotten it. It is a primal recognition of the wonder, beauty, and divine nature of the Earth. It is a felt reverence for all that exists. Once we bring this foundational quality into our consciousness, we will be able to respond to our present man-made crisis from a place of balance, in which our actions will be grounded in an attitude of respect for all of life. This is the nature of real sustainability.”

On the road - spent the day eating bad food - a culturally appropriated breakfast burrito and a beef & cheddar made from a dead, abused cow.
Every moment of a life is a horrible tragedy, a slapstick comedy, dark nihilism, golden illumination, or nothing at all; depending on how we write the story we tell ourselves.

Inch and a half?! Maybe that sounds bigger than it is but that sounds like too much meat even for me, and I have a healthy (or unhealthy, depending on how you look at it) appetite!

Lol, hubby and I shared 2 small ones with the kids. It's the only red meat we've had in about 6 weeks or so.

Grilled it one charcoal grill with some corn on the cob and zucchini. Got leftovers for lunch tomorrow too.

it was medium rare. ...I just like to rub in my filthy meat-eating habits. I can't help it, I'm not elevated of taste or mind or ethics enough to eschew cow. And I force my children into my lifestyle as well...agreeable, if it wasn't for steak and meatball subs, my oldest would be a vegetarian
    (ETA-This rant wasn't directed @ you Briton).

Little Caesar's new stuffed crust deep dish pizza. Not bad, even though I don't like their sauce.
