I have a few friends that are satanists and I could easily coexist with them. We actually have some beliefs in common - though at different levels. For example we both believe that deity exists within each of us. We also believe in respecting those who respect us. I find no difficulty in living within such a society, although it might be less "colorful" than what we have today.
To broad a question to answer or speculate upon without knowing how your defining Satanism. Some varieties I could survive under no problem, other's could be very much a problem. Consider Biblical Satanism, that would drive me nuts as it's simply upside down Catholicism with it's ordained minister who performs the black mass. Aspects of Crowley based Satanism ok, aspects of LeVayian satanism ok, heck even aspects of Satanic Witchcraft could be ok or problematic.
Bad part is today I think in many ways Satanism is as broad a collective term as Wicca is.
