Last week I was in Michael's (Arts & Crafts) picking up a couple of things and had a chance encounter with a fellow pagan. She noticed my hammer pendant and was wearing one herself. We had a very pleasant conversation and she told me about a local meetup group, which I had no idea existed.
So last night the group was having a swap meet & potluck and I stopped by to introduce myself. They were fantastic - very welcoming and inclusive and treated me as if I've been there all along. The fact it was at the host's residence didn't even phase me. I'm cautious about going to a residence I'm not familiar with - they even commented about me opting not to wait for a public venue. Not in a bad way - just out of the ordinary for a newcomer.
Anyway, they were great and invited me back anytime. Gifted me a pentacle ring before I left. I came away energized and looking forward to the next event. Can't wait.
