Charlie Sheen HIV positive

If you are done watching Paris, then the other news to come out is that Charlie Sheen has been HIV+ for 4 years now. He says he's tired of being blackmailed by the porn stars and hangers on who he effed and had as friends. (are you even surprised these people who blackmail him? No, me neither). He says he'd like his blackmail money to go to his 5 children and 1 grand child. And he's pretty much ruined his finances. He also says his sexual partners were aware of his status. And that he was safe with them. Except two women who are being treated by his doctor (whatever that means). He and his doctor claim that undetectable hiv in his viral loads means he's not infectious.

So sleeping with others, meh. I don't have cooties. It's cool.

What do you think of this whole situation?

This story, for me, gets filed with the rest of the celebrity ones into my very special bin labeled TRASH. It doesn't affect my life in the least, so why should I care? Just another spoiled, rich fish-up getting paid way too much money and wanting to keep his name in the spotlight so he doesn't get forgotten.

In truth,and even the docs said this,there is no such thing as "Never" He might not be as big a risk,but he is STILL a risk...
I do remember some people who were positive and having sex without telling the person going to jail for that.

His brains must be fried. Sad thing is, some regular schmuck who contracts HIV will think "Hey, if Charlie's not infectious, maybe I'm not either".

Everything I read on this story says that the two women he had unprotected sex with were patients of the same doctor prior to his relations with him and his doctor informed them both of the risk before they had sex, not the other way around. And that all his partners since his diagnosis had been informed prior to their activities, and they subsequently turned around post-coitus (Sheldon!) and threatened to post photos of his medications to the tabloids (even in circumstances where those partners of his had gone with him to the pharmacy to obtain his medications).

I also didn't read anything where it reported that he ever said he wasn't infectious. Everything I read said his statement said his HIV was "undetectable" which means that it's in remission and won't show up on blood test results as long as he is taking his antiretroviral medication and the HIV stays in remission.

I'm not going to jump down the throat of someone who has been going through this for 4 years and has come out to the world about it in an open and honest way. Nor am I going to judge that person or try to embellish, add, or expand on "details" that are fuzzy in their origin at best. Especially since these articles are coming from places with a gossip/embellishing bias to begin with.

I can't say I'm surprised he picked up something though. Nobody deserves that kind of earth shattering diagnosis, nobody deserves to be blackmailed for a medical condition no matter what the cause of it, and I actually commend him for coming forward to the masses openly about his diagnosis (even if it took 4 years) because it may open the door for non-celebrities to shake the stigma attached with it.

Fair enough. Everything besides his hiv status has made him a misogynist douche. In my religion it's perfectly acceptable to judge. Though his whole Tiger Blood escapade can now totally be understood. He was pretty much freaking out after finding out about his status and went on a drug binge. Though he said he thinks steroids may have had something to do with it.


This man has said and done vile things. Hiv doesn't make me feel bad for him. And it doesn't make me feel good for him either that he has it.

This. HIV is terrible, but we take the risks we take and have only ourselves to blame. Being an ass doesn't mean he deserved to get HIV, but he is still an obnoxious ass.
