Oooh, let's have a lookie in my bookmarks....

These are all Anglo-Saxon based btw ^_^

        Websites:

http://www.englatheod.org/ - Site about English Theodism

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anglo-Saxon_paganism - Wikipedia page on AS paganism; have a rootle around the related pages and links and you'll turn up some v. interesting stuff!

http://www.wicca.utvinternet.com/woden.htm - Page about Woden, Odin and The Runes. Bit of a Wiccan flavour to it at times but still very useful.

http://ang.wikipedia.org/wiki/H%C3%A9afods%C3%ADde - Old English Wiki (actually written in OE!)

http://www.wayofwyrd.com/introduction_pc.html - Site for Brian Bates' book 'The Way of Wyrd'

        Books:

Brian Bates, 'The Way of Wyrd' - A fictional tale based on historical fact, about a young Christian scribe who accompanies a pagan sorceror on an epic spiritual journey through Anglo-Saxon England.

Kathleen Herbert, 'Looking For The Lost Gods of England' - transcript of a lecture about the worship of the Gods in AS England.

And of course don't forget the literature from the time- not just 'Beowulf', but 'The Anglo-Saxon Chronicle', the poems such as 'The Wanderer' and 'The Seafarer' and 'The Battle of Maldon', all provide invaluable insights into the ways of our ancestors.

I'll post up anything else I come across!
"The Germans do not think it in keeping with the divine majesty to confine gods within walls or to portray them in the likeness of any human countenance. Their holy places are woods and groves, and they apply the names of deities to that hidden presence which is seen only by the eye of reverence." (Tacitus, `Germania', 9)

Sorry for DP but I found a new one! :P

          http://www.anglo-saxons.net/hwaet/

This is a site that has info on the Anglo-Saxon period, ranging from the texts (complete with Old English version alongside), to info about the customs and famous people of the time. It also has maps and a timeline, as well as a list of links to other sites, though most of them don't work, sadly; I'm guessing this is an old site that hasn't been updated in a while.

On that note, I'm still lamenting the loss of englishheathenism.homestead.com, which used to be my main source of Anglo-Saxon info.

I stumbled upon this interesting poem..
The determination of a man who knows that he is the only thing standing between the thing he loves… and its utter destruction.

Decided to add this link to the thread due to it's revealence about the culture.

Heathenry demands that we read, but what we read is very important, what's the point in spending hard earned cash on stuff that's irrelevant.

                  Good Internet Sources

There are others but these are good starting points.

Heathenry demands that we read, but what we read is very important, what's the point in wasting precious time reading stuff that's irrelevant.

Heathenry is certainly not Wiccan and definitely not Nazitru, heathenry is scholarly and is based on factual evidence, not 'fluffy' nonsense or political agenda.
