    Yes - I have people who seem to pull this on me regularly. I don't have much money, but I have wealthy relatives. They have, on occasion, told me that what they gave was not equal to what they got.

    My response is to quite giving, if you expict an equal return.

    IMHO - giving gifts is an honor, and not (when done rightly) subject to cost/expense analysis.
    Every moment of a life is a horrible tragedy, a slapstick comedy, dark nihilism, golden illumination, or nothing at all; depending on how we write the story we tell ourselves.

              I must admit I'm getting to the stage of "one more carol and I'll scream!" But the BBC acknowledged the solstice today, and played Nielson's Helios Overture in celebration, so I think I can hold up to the weekend.
