    My first Winter Solstice

I just preformed my first ritual to mark the Winter Solstice. It was very informal, a simple libation and prayer to Dionysos and Ariadne. I offered myrrh incense, bread and wine. It wasn't as ''professional'' as I would have liked but it was my first time and I explained in the prayer that my intent was respectful. I just thought I'd share this with my fellow pagans.

No need for it to be professional, make your offering from the heart, not a script
I'm not one to ever pray for mercy
Or to wish on pennies in the fountain or the shrine
But that day you know I left my money
And I thought of you only

That's really cool! Damn, I should do something for the solstice before I forget that it's today...
“You must be shapeless, formless, like water. When you pour water in a cup, it becomes the cup. When you pour water in a bottle, it becomes the bottle. When you pour water in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Water can drip and it can crash. Become like water my friend.” -- Bruce Lee

Have I missed it? I probably should have joined Arthur Pendragon down at Stonehenge.

You missed it if you weren't up this morning to watch the thickly overcast sky get a little less dark.

I agree with Briton. It doesn't have to be a formal affair. I hope you had a Merry Yule!

Congratulations! I celebrated Heliogenna with a offering of frankincense and water and the Orphic hymn to Helios. And solar food today: quiche and lemon swiss roll (not at the same time, I hasten to add).

I did get up early a couple of weeks ago to watch the sun rise, which was nice. So I don't feel too bad about missing this one.
