In my area? Old mine workings that nobody bothered to map. One feller was walking his dog up on the mountain, stopped to light a fag (cigarette) and got blown up in the air by methane gas igniting from an old air shaft. And the dog was killed, poor little bugger.

Flooding is another. And sinkholes. And landslide.

What natural disaster lurks in your area? (ie I'm in southern California. Earthquake!)

There's always a chance of a volcanic eruption, earthquake, hurricane, or tsunami here. Luckily they've all got pretty slim chances right now. The last lava flow went into the ocean and the few quakes I've experienced have been very minor. I slept through most of them, actually.

More of a nuisance is volcanic smog or "vog." It doesn't usually bother me, but it does smell of sulfur and it triggers allergies in some people.

Earthquakes. The big one is always imminent, but we usually only get the baby ones you often don't even notice. Severe snowstorms, which are pretty normal. Avalanche. Often lose at least one person to avalanche per year, but most of the time you can avoid avalanche areas if you want to. Flood. Mudslide. Fires. Geez, sounds bad, but feels pretty safe.

As I get older, I worry less about these things. Feels like the odds are going down as I have less time left. Also, the line up for death keep s getting shorter anyway. I don't worry so much about possessions anymore either. If we lose them, we lose them. We used to laugh at people building extravagant homes on the fault line or in flood plains. Now, I think I would buy a a house on the fault line if I felt like it, because it is pretty there. Que sera sera. Flood plain not so much.

Far, far more than is healthy. I wear wax earplugs because the foam ones started to irritate the ear canal. The wax ones just form a lid over the ear, but it makes my ears feel sweaty when I wake up.

Yes. Even if it's just the outside or behind!
I have one ear that's narrower than the other and it needs attention a bit more. I also wear ear buds daily. So yeah. I know you need to have wax, but have you seen those videos where people have never ever touched their ears? I mean, it's like clogged up in there. ewww.

Oh. I clean the outside and the behind because my mom used to say there was enough dirt back there to grow carrots. I do it every day when I shower.

Everytime I wear earplugs (seriously, it's the most effective way to do it if you are putting them in correctly...most people wear them wrong)
