    Think about this...

When you can see those in pain, and do not wish to remove the pain,
When you can see those who suffer, and do not desire to relieve the suffering,
When you can see ignorance and do not desire to alieviate ignorance -
    In short;
When you do not wish to show simple human kindness,
What is it that you have to desire?
Every moment of a life is a horrible tragedy, a slapstick comedy, dark nihilism, golden illumination, or nothing at all; depending on how we write the story we tell ourselves.

You're asking this on a board with me around? Really?

      Oh well,

      wait for it.....

      PIZZA!!!!!

What? My tastes are simple and predictable.
life itself was a lightsaber in his hands; even in the face of treachery and death and hopes gone cold, he burned like a candle in the darkness. Like a star shining in the black eternity of space.

      Yoda: Dark Rendezvous

"But those men who know anything at all about the Light also know that there is a fierceness to its power, like the bare sword of the law, or the white burning of the sun." Suddenly his voice sounded to Will very strong, and very Welsh. "At the very heart, that is. Other things, like humanity, and mercy, and charity, that most good men hold more precious than all else, they do not come first for the Light. Oh, sometimes they are there; often, indeed. But in the very long run the concern of you people is with the absolute good, ahead of all else..."

John Rowlands, The Grey King by Susan Cooper

"You come from the Lord Adam and the Lady Eve", said Aslan. "And that is both honour enough to erect the head of the poorest beggar, and shame enough to bow the shoulders of the greatest emperor on earth; be content."

Aslan, Prince Caspian by CS Lewis

Good Pizza is a gift from the god(ess) but bad Pizza is the work of an evil attempt to conspire to give Pizza a bad name.

          Oh, yeah...

I completely forgot pizza while I was in a quinine-induced poetic mood.

I guess I am jaded for each of those would depend upon the situation as to what I would do.

I'd not go out of my way to end the hurt and suffering of one who is being punished such as say a child rapist. To me such would be a valid return upon their actions. I'd not waste my time trying to change the closed mind of someone who refuses to consider the possibility of anything else. That is a waste of time, effort and my life. Be like trying to change the mind of a devout racist who will consider no argument as valid that does not arrive at their forgone conclusion.

It's sort of like the premise that love will change everything yet it can not. Simply because as a definer it has so many levels, definitions of what it is and means that people embrace it or use it as a measure of weakness.

Sorry its an ideal people have of what perfection and such would be like but I personally do not believe humanity has the capacity to embrace the applications.
