Seriously you mean to say those schrooms were good for my mental health?

"Magic mushrooms," the recreational hallucinogen long associated with music festivals and hippies, may also one day prove to have a powerful pharmaceutical effect for people with treatment-resistant depression."

They needed a clinical trial for this? All they had to do was go ask Alice.

I'm glad the article discussed issues with the methodology instead of just trumpeting this as a major medical breakthrough. It would be great if it works out though.

The article also reminds me of a story from one of my college professors. Apparently, when LSD was still legal, there was a stage when they had psychiatry residents at the local university try LSD to help them understand hallucinations. They took them all to a small room in the hospital and had them sit or lie on the floor. They were then told that most people had a time when they thought they were being sucked down the drain in the middle of the floor, and that they shouldn't be alarmed if it happened to them. Of course, then they all thought they were being sucked down the drain and it was naturally VERY alarming. Presumably experimental design is a bit less cruel now.
