Is the Pope a Catholic? Nope - he's a heretic

OK - not exactly a heretic, but because he is telling people to be nice and have understanding for others, he's been accused of spreading heretical teaching.

And, yes, the Pope is infallible, but only when he teaches official church doctrine, not when he just says "be nice."

Conservatives accuse the Pope of spreading heresy
Those who have suffered understand suffering and therefore extend their hand.

Meh, dissatisfied Catholics whining about the Pope is nothing new. This group isn't apparently going full on heretic about it yet but

They have company waiting for them when they do.

Yoda told stories, and ate, and cried, and laughed: and the Padawans saw that life itself was a lightsaber in his hands; even in the face of treachery and death and hopes gone cold, he burned like a candle in the darkness. Like a star shining in the black eternity of space.

Suddenly his voice sounded to Will very strong, and very Welsh. "At the very heart, that is. Other things, like humanity, and mercy, and charity, that most good men hold more precious than all else, they do not come first for the Light. Oh, sometimes they are there; often, indeed. Not in this case. People are arguing that Francis is spreading false doctrine to the Church. Since the Catholic Church has mostly abandoned persuasion by fire and sword in this type of scenario, those accusations are divisive but not directly dangerous. A couple centuries ago...

well accusing a Pope of heresy during the wrong century could be directly harmful but generally not to the Pope.

Well Pope Francis is an unorthodox Pope. He support some topics that most Pope won't support like gay marriage and abortion.

He doesn't actually "support" them - they are still against Catholic doctrine. He does urge church people to be understanding, and show compassion, though.

    ^This.

His position far as I can tell amounts to, "The Church has repeated its position on these topics ad infinitum for several decades. Rather than continue the trend, let's get to work on something that it's allowed to slide. Hmm, how about LOVE THY NEIGHBOR!!!"

It all depends on what they mean by heresy. If we go really deep into it, the whole church is a heresy against the religion of Jesus. But very little of them want to ponder about that.
Do they not, then, ponder about the Qur‘an? Had it been from someone other than Allah, they would have found in it much discrepancy. [4:82]
