Sean, what about snakes that refuse pre-killed prey? My dad's snake was literally starving itself (I'm pretty sure he took it to the vet he was getting so worried) because it refused the pre-killed frozen mice. He didn't like it, but he started giving it live mice because it wouldn't eat anything else.

I wondered if he could ever understand that it was a blessing, not a sin, to be graced with more than one love.
It could be complicated; of course it could be complicated. And it opened one up to the possibility of more pain and loss.
Still, it was a blessing I would never relinquish. Love, genuine love, was always a cause for joy.

Corn snakes, to my knowledge are one of the best if not *the* best eaters when it comes to pet snakes. A good bunch not even refusing a meal during shedding! However if that happens we can buy scented frozen mice. They are scented with a variety of things such as frogs, insect powder and egg.

Cool. I was just curious is the laws allowed for health of the snake in those situations. I've never heard of scenting the mice like that.

Got the tip from a ball python owner friend of mine (has about 5 snakes if I remember correctly, and some other animals as well. Animal lover all around). Some of his snakes are picky eaters and he'll just rub the thawed mice against the skin of one of his frogs or lightly dip them in an egg's yolk (not too much since chicken egg yolk is not healthy for ball pythons). Makes the "prey" more appetizing for the snake, apparently. You can buy scented mice from pet food supplies as well but it's much more expensive. So he just does it himself when needed.
