I've read most of the Book List we compiled.

Give me your best reads, fiction or non-fiction, that have a witchy slant.

I'm currently reading The Witch's Daughter, by Paula Brackston.

I'm currently reading The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss. Up until now it's not so much about the magic, but I like how the character develops.

        The Mists of Avalon.

A retelling of the Arthurian legend from the perspective of the female characters with a strong pagan vs Christian theme.

At a convention a few months ago, I found myself in the bar, talking to a young woman who wanted to expand her reading list. She read a lot of fantasy, but had only dipped her toe into sci-fi. Wher…

i have read all of her books

I definitely concur with this. Love it - it was the book that actually awoke the Pagan in me years ago, and I'm currently re-reading it.

These are great recommendations guys, except I kept thinking in my head 'read it, read that, read that too'.

Mists of Avalon is great haha. Also, I'm impatiently waiting for Rothfuss to write his damn third book.

terrible that your writer may die before you decipher their true meaning, but the world devours writers whole at times,a writers fate it seems

I love anything I've read by Christopher Penczac (sp?). Some of my favorite books are reference books. I got the Dictionary is Demons on Rae'ya advice I think, years ago, and it's pretty awesome. Norse mythology by Niel Gaiman was really good and I also enjoyed Anansi's Boys and am currently listening to American Gods.

I can take a picture of our pagan book shelf when I get home. We have tons of great books on it, but I'm struggling to remember titles.

I wondered if he could ever understand that it was a blessing, not a sin, to be graced with more than one love.
It could be complicated; of course it could be complicated. And it opened one up to the possibility of more pain and loss.
Still, it was a blessing I would never relinquish. Love, genuine love, was always a cause for joy.

Norse Mythology is a great book. Along a similar vein is mythos by Stephen Fry (Greek mythology).

I'm probably going to read Heroes by Stephen Fry next, but I'll look into this Christopher person.

I'd love to see your bookshelf! I'll use it to revamp some of the ultimate book list

oh yes I'll back up Norse Mythology by Gaiman, it's brilliant!

Stephen Fry's Mythos is good, but I found it kind of long winded and hard to get through right after finishing Norse Mythology.

I have more but I can't seem to remember any right now -.-

Incense oils and brews by Cunningham. Even though it's for kids, even as an adult I love Circle Round. It has chants and stories in it too. Sammie has Animal Speak by Ted Andrews and loves it. The reason books by Conway are good if you want to look into dragon magic.

I don't so much have a bookshelf as a book floor. They are spilling all over the place. At the moment I'm reading Kieckhefer's Magic in the Middle Ages.
