    Summary: Just under a pack and a half of cigarettes smoked today; better than yesterday. I've found yesterday that it helps if I only smoke half of a cigarette at a time too; each cigarette takes almost twice as long then.

    I think the reason I always failed trying to quit in the past is because I never tried to cut back or wean myself off first, and I'd just go cold turkey without using any cessation aids; I found a nicotine gum system that comes in three levels, and shouldn't have to be used any longer than four weeks.

    Summary: I smoked a lot more cigarettes today than I did the other two days; a whole two packs, (slept a lot less, too, though; only a few hours or so of shut-eye; woke up at 4:00 PM MST). Tomorrow I'll shoot for only having two an hour for every hour; there's been a few hours where I had finished three cigarettes within the hour, as opposed to my usual four or five when I'm not even trying to cut back and just smoking unconsciously haha.

    From there, I can start moving towards only one an hour. I hope to be smoking less than a full pack a day by the time I switch to the gum. I may or may not make a gradual transition to the gum as well; for instance, chewing a piece of gum every other cigarette or so, until it gets to the point I'm smoking less than half a pack of cigarettes a day.

    At least I made sure to get this day's count correct; I think I might've been off by a couple of cigarettes yesterday. Hope I can get to sleep soon; probably going to be awake until the early hours of tomorrow, which begin in approximately fifteen minutes...Mountain Standard Time.

    Summary: Another small victory; I smoked the least amount of cigarettes today since the day I started; my previous record was twenty-eight cigarettes a day.

    I also made my general goal for the day of not finishing more than two cigarettes in the same hour, and there was one hour where I only had one cigarette. I'm going to start going for a couple more of those to help lower my count more; have to speed things up a little if I want to be down to less than a pack a day by the time I transition to the gum.

    Summary: I took a slight step backwards today; over a pack and a half smoked today. I at least managed to lower the frequency a little bit more than my other days, and I was able to only smoke one an hour at times. I only slept a few hours or so though; trying to correct my circadian rhythm; went to sleep around 12:00 PM and woke up around 4:00 PM; went back to sleep around 9:30 PM and woke up around 11:30 PM so I can post this entry before tomorrow happens haha.

    I'm going to try playing video games more to take my mind off of smoking, and I've ordered an exercise mat to start a workout regimen; exercise is a good substitute to distract yourself from smoking, and it helps cleanse your body's system out of the toxins and carcinogens if I recall correctly.

    Overall, not my best day, but not my worst day either.

    Summary: The frequency was a bit worse today than it was yesterday. I still haven't gotten around to firing up the PS4 I got for Christmas from my aunt; I never really was all that much of a gamer. My sleep schedule is still out of whack. I've been kind of mopey. I'm going to try shooting for twenty-six or less cigarettes tomorrow to beat my former record from March 13th; preferably less than twenty-six. I'll try remembering to set the alarm on my phone; see if that helps, combined with playing video games, and only smoking half a cigarette at a time. I may consider using the gum early...I don't know though; I don't like deviating from plans once I've set them.
