Writers: What is the word for..

I already have an idea of the right combination of words, but I'm going to put this to you very clever people here.

What is a word that means: something is obvious, but only after you've pointed it out.

Context: My husband pointed out that a local restaurant, 'Berts', is named after our local hero 'Bert Hinkler.' It's obviously true after someone points it out. The sentence went: 'There's a new restaurant down the street. It's named Berts after Bert Hinkler.. obviously.'

    Fix it for me!

Do you mean like "Needless to say," or "naturally," or "it goes without saying"?

I also like "it goes without saying". It seems most clear.

'goes without saying' isn't quite right. That phrasing means you wouldn't have to say the fact for someone to perceive it, it's observable on its own. The word I'm looking for would describe something being obvious in hindsight only. So it does require saying.

Good point. I'm thinking on it. I can come up with phrases, but can't put my finger on a specific word.

life itself was a lightsaber in his hands; even in the face of treachery and death and hopes gone cold, he burned like a candle in the darkness. Like a star shining in the black eternity of space.

"But those men who know anything at all about the Light also know that there is a fierceness to its power, like the bare sword of the law, or the white burning of the sun." Suddenly his voice sounded to Will very strong, and very Welsh. "At the very heart, that is. Other things, like humanity, and mercy, and charity, that most good men hold more precious than all else, they do not come first for the Light. Oh, sometimes they are there; often, indeed. But in the very long run the concern of you people is with the absolute good, ahead of all else..."
