Can't help myself from patting myself on the back at my decision to get outta the teaching biz before the Cootievirus hit.

I know my colleagues. Those folks will work 95 hr weeks to make sure they provide the best eddicashun they can, under whatever horrendous conditions. I know this 'cause that's what I'd do iffin' I wasn't already free.

Then, they'll be rewarded with paycuts onacountta devastated state budgets.

    Idiots!

    Me too, I guess.
Every moment of a life is a horrible tragedy, a slapstick comedy, dark nihilism, golden illumination, or nothing at all; depending on how we write the story we tell ourselves.

We're a week in, still no power. We have a generator, so we at least have our fridge working. We're living in the basement because it's too hot upstairs to rest. Our bedroom has a hole in it. Ugh.
We are what we are. Nothing more, nothing less. There is good and evil among every kind of people. It's the evil among us who rule now. -Anne Bishop, Daughter of the Blood

I wondered if he could ever understand that it was a blessing, not a sin, to be graced with more than one love.
It could be complicated; of course it could be complicated. And it opened one up to the possibility of more pain and loss.
Still, it was a blessing I would never relinquish. Love, genuine love, was always a cause for joy.

Trying to figure out what the **** Microsoft was thinking in the most recent update of their android launcher. I mean, it still has an absolutely insane amount of gesture support which is 95% of the reason I use it but they cut out some little stuff I like for reasons that aren't apparent to me and I'm less than thrilled about that. They also did something silly to folder animation for reasons...

"But those men who know anything at all about the Light also know that there is a fierceness to its power, like the bare sword of the law, or the white burning of the sun." Suddenly his voice sounded to Will very strong, and very Welsh. "At the very heart, that is. Other things, like humanity, and mercy, and charity, that most good men hold more precious than all else, they do not come first for the Light. Oh, sometimes they are there; often, indeed. But in the very long run the concern of you people is with the absolute good, ahead of all else..."

I made General Manager of the restaurant in mid-August. I refused the offer a month early because I love my job so much and didn't want to be a disappointment. Yet here I am new GM of Sugar Magnolia Takery.

I'm pretty sure shampoo is a scam. I stopped using it like two months ago and the only thing I've noticed is my hair doesn't get all dry and difficult after washing anymore.

I remember seeing the trailer at the movie theater a while before Signs was released, and saying "we have to see that" and then seeing it, and later buying the DVD. It's one of my favorites. I can practically recite it.

As for the Dark Shadows people, I think Barnabas and Angelique have come back as Jared and Ivanka.

YES! I'm so glad someone else has noticed. I wash my hair maybe once every three weeks or so - lots of people think I'm gross, but when I shampoo, my hair gets stripped of all its natural oils and I turn into a fluffy poodle for four or five days, and I hate it.

School starts online on Wednesday. Somehow, a whole summer has passed. I don't understand the passage of time.

My hair is the opposite! It's fine and straight.

The Kentucky Derby being run yesterday has seriously messed up my sense of time!

Summer has taken entirely too long to pass. Work with COVID restrictions has been a special brand of irritating and I dislike humanity more than most years atm.
