  • Making up a God

So, I'm moving in with a guy friend in a month, and to make up for all the silly little girl/OCD things he's going to have to put up with, I want to make him a gift.

I wanted to create a little clay statue of a mythical god I've decided will be the "God of Manliness" for the room we've decided will be the "man cave" (yes, we've named all our rooms) ...I'd use a real one, but I don't know of any, and he's atheist, besides - but I think he'll appreciate the humour in this, as we have discussed in the past creating a shrine to the 'computer gods' for 'fast internet'.

I usually like to make my little fimo statues short and fat, so I will likely do that. What attributes should the God of Manliness have? Should his familiar be a sentient beer can, etc?

Come on now. Big balls and penis. 'nuff said. Women might want other things. Like oh a cute beard. But men. It's all about the penis. Make it huge!

I think it should have a face and large balls and penis on both side of the statue. One face should be smiling with a large erect penis and the other side should be frowning with the penis being stroked by his own hand. Sort of like she's happy I'm happy on one side and I screwed up an now I don't get any on the other.

Oh and Medusa it's not always about the penis for some of us. I like the lady's parts very much and if it's to huge there are places it just won't......well you get my drift.

“You have never answered but you did not need to. If I stand at the ocean I can hear you with your thousand voices. Sometimes you shout, hilarious laughter that taunts all questions. Other nights you are silent as death, a mirror in which the stars show themselves. Then I think you want to tell me something, but you never do. Of course I know I have written letters to no-one. But what if I find a trident tomorrow?" ~~Letters to Poseidon, Cees Nooteboom

“We still carry this primal relationship to the Earth within our consciousness, even if we have long forgotten it. It is a primal recognition of the wonder, beauty, and divine nature of the Earth. It is a felt reverence for all that exists. Once we bring this foundational quality into our consciousness, we will be able to respond to our present man-made crisis from a place of balance, in which our actions will be grounded in an attitude of respect for all of life. This is the nature of real sustainability.”
          ~~Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee

"We are the offspring of history, and must establish our own paths in this most diverse and interesting of conceivable universes--one indifferent to our suffering, and therefore offering us maximal freedom to thrive, or to fail, in our own chosen way."

"Humans are not rational creatures. Now, logic and rationality are very helpful tools, but there’s also a place for embracing our subjectivity and thinking symbolically. Sometimes what our so-called higher thinking can’t or won’t see, our older, more primitive intuition will." John Beckett

I love that movie, no matter how many times I see it!

But back to the subject - Give him a strong back. Men like to feel like they hold up the whole world. We all know they don't, but we still like to feel that way.
Every moment of a life is a horrible tragedy, a slapstick comedy, dark nihilism, golden illumination, or nothing at all; depending on how we write the story we tell ourselves.

Why not do some sort of Atlas twist, for instance put a abit of humor into the statue so make him hold the world in one hand and flagon of cider in the other or something xD

If the statue has balls and a penis it wouldn't be a god of manliness, it would be a god of gayness.
Do they not, then, ponder about the Qur‘an? Had it been from someone other than Allah, they would have found in it much discrepancy. [4:82]

So all those male and female clay figures with overstated genitalia in museums are actually representative of homosexuality and not fertility like the archaeologists have been telling us all along?

It's somehow relieving to know that my Neanderthal forebears were ok with homosexuality.
