ISO Clam Chowder Recipe

Does anyone have a good 'New England' style clam chowder recipe? I looked for some soup starter kits, but all I could find was corn chowder, and the corn wasn't packaged separately... I'm not too big on corn in soup.

My favorite was the kind they served at Hooters, but our local Hooters restaurant closed & I don't want to have to go all the way to the Strip to the Hooters casino...

I've actually never made clam chowder...hopefully you'll have someone else with a good recipe!

I've only made it w/soup starter kits. I'm not much of a soup-making person... Creamy soup attempts turn out broken or lumpy. I can't make a good-looking broth, no matter how much I strain it. I can't figure out the correct proportion of seasonings, so my soups are always either too spicy or bland. My mother, sisters & various aunts never made much soup - it all came out of a can, so I can at least lay it at their feet for me not ever learning how to do it.

I can make a mean mess of slow-cooked beans, though!

I really wish i could help you I love to cook a lot I mainly do all the cooking for my Wife I have never made Clam chowder either but it is one of my favorite all time soups and also Beer Cheese Soup. If you need Tips on Spanish cuisine, or good down home Recipes, feel free to ask me anytime .
