I think if others are allowed to join in it can be fun. Then again, I studied dance...

First thing that enters my mind is "Damn, people can actually do something together that doesn't involve Tanks and bombs"

I've been part of a flash mob before. We got a huge group of people together and started dancing the Robot on campus one year. ...right outside the library.

My little sister was in a Flash mob in 2008.

I think I was witness to the lamest flash mob ever. A few weeks ago we were at the farmers market which is on the four streets surrounding a one block square park in downtown. The park is kinda hilly with trees and green grass. We noticed 2 or 3 people sitting in lotus position and meditating. About 5 minutes later, we noticed they had been joined by a few more folks. The people spread out all over the park and all faced the center of it. By the end of the hour there were probably a hundred people meditating. It was weird...

Some of them are fun, but mostly I'm kind of over it. It's so overdone these days. As great as public pillow fights, zombie walks and random dances are, it's been going on for several years...time to move on to a new idea.

Does the Zombie Walk count as a flashmob? Because I've done that a few times and it's a blast! I never did get a chance to do the pillow fights at the art gallery, or the silent dancing on the skytrain (which would have been fantastic).

I think it does...here it's planned but usually it's planned on facebook for some people and then a ton of people just join in.

Our pillow fight is always at Brandenburg Gate and I didn't go last year, but might this year. It does seem kind of fun, and it usually ends up with tons of feathers everywhere (for some reason lots of people bring feather pillows and they break?)

Feather pillows are the devil. I'd be a sneezing mess if I went to a feather-pillow pillow fight.
