    Curious on items people use.

I was wondering what everyone here uses for spells, meditation and the like. I don't really need any help with anything, I'm just curious.

I use stones for my alter, I even have a stone frog. I love Frogs. I also have sliver rings on me at all times and my silver pentagram that I got from my mom. I have candles, and some candle holders. I also use incense.

What do you use? and what are your favorite things.

My irish whistle is one of my favorite things to use for rituals. It's a low whistle and has a very mellow sound. I also like using water and crystals. I have a smokey quartz pendulum I use for quite a few things. And candles when i can though thats not an option on campus. I love using candles for spells though. And someone on here recently suggested I try poppets so i'm going to give that a go. :]

          Faith, will, imagination

Materially? Shrug, one or two pendants when it suits me and whatever is in the general vicinity that looks appropriate if I need something extra. I'm not a fan of tools in most cases so with the exception of certain convenient pendants, I don't keep specific mystical instruments as a major part of my practice.
life itself was a lightsaber in his hands; even in the face of treachery and death and hopes gone cold, he burned like a candle in the darkness. Like a star shining in the black eternity of space.

          Yoda: Dark Rendezvous

"But those men who know anything at all about the Light also know that there is a fierceness to its power, like the bare sword of the law, or the white burning of the sun." Suddenly his voice sounded to Will very strong, and very Welsh. "At the very heart, that is. Other things, like humanity, and mercy, and charity, that most good men hold more precious than all else, they do not come first for the Light. Oh, sometimes they are there; often, indeed. But in the very long run the concern of you people is with the absolute good, ahead of all else..."

"You come from the Lord Adam and the Lady Eve", said Aslan. "And that is both honour enough to erect the head of the poorest beggar, and shame enough to bow the shoulders of the greatest emperor on earth; be content."

I have an athame I named. I keep rocks I find, my horn, bottles of herbs, candles I make and incense I make, string, antlers. If I think I might use it later I keep it at the altar.

This is so odd. I could swear I replied to this topic today, yet I can't see my post :S

What I was posting is that I do have some tools - wand, knife, cup, and a pentacle on a cloth, that I use during most of my indoors rituals. I am not very attached to them though and have only started to use tools a few years ago. During outdoor rituals I don't use anything other than my body, soul, mind, and spirit - that and the elements and energies surrounding me is all I need for my practice, really!

You might have been caught by our spam-bot...sometimes it catches legitimate posts by new members, and a mod has to go thru and approve the post...which, of course, depends on when a mod is on. Once you have a few more posts (not sure of the exact number) you should be safe from that happening. Its a bit disconcerting and annoying, I know...but its a bit less annoying that logging on to Russian porn and whatnot!!

I tend to stick with my bare hands and my will. Though I will use my staff when the occasion demands it.

It does depend a bit on what the ritual or spell is about, and where I am, but... Cup and plate, censer, ritual knife, and stang. Rattles and sistrums, wooden flutes and tin whistle. Rocks, sticks, herbs, thorns, water, string, dirt, scrap cloth, pouches. Ogham staves. Prayer/meditation beads. Walking stick. Candles on rare occasion (usually just on Deity shrines). Other things on occasion, just myself sometimes as well...

Chinese meditation balls. They are great because I have ADD and love to fidget so this helps me include motion without losing my calm state.

Japah Malah beads. I am not sure what they are used for but they have a calming effect on me while meditating. My Dad gave them to me for my birthday last year.

Medicine bag w/crystals. I got bored and made a braided hemp cord and attached a cloth pouch. I decided to put my crystals in it so they don't get lost or messed up.

My favorite tools are incense and goddess images. It's cliche for sure, but a nice goddess image with a good incense burning can just clear my mind so much. It brings me peace. It reminds me of Catholic churches that leave the red lamp burning to show the presence of God in the Eucharist. I like to think that the incense represents my prayers and thoughts, constantly rising to the face of the goddess, not literally of course, more like a reminder that my life is lifting up to something higher and to something peaceful.

i don't use altars, but i have a "memory tablet" where i put things that make me remember the good moments in my life.
And i don't like to hear my own voice talking, so when i pray, it is mostly through singin or playing on my flute. i also have a snake amulet seems to help, when somebody in my family gets sick. Well that was some things, hope your curiousety liked it

one last thing; if someone finds my english is a little confusing, it's becouse it's not my native language. I'm Danish, so.....
