    Re: Should prostitution be legalized?

I'm a firm believer in not regulating morals, so yes. I don't understand how porn is legal but if you're not producing it as a film, it's somehow illegal. There is no way to draw the line between prostitution, porn star or gold digger. Sex is a service that can be traded between consenting people just like any other field. I like the way Hong Kong legislates it. You can be a prostitute but pimps are outlawed. That prevents women being forced into the field unwillingly so. They run their own businesses as an individual.

I'm with you on this part. In the vast scheme of things I have no issue with two consenting adults on how they approach sex in this manner. I just feel that stuff like human trafficking should be addressed first.

Arizona's Planned Parenthood blog talks about it reasonably, examining the consequences of and implications of antibiotic resistance, and reduced choices for treatment. People with bleeding disorders and/or allergies to penicillin would have serious consequences arising from a simple brush with the antibiotic resistant strain of syphillus. And the bacterium in question is showing signs of adapting to break down penicillin before it kills the bacteria - if this progresses further, it would eliminate the single most widely used treatment for syphilis in the US.

And they're talking about Syphilis - the disease that Archaeologists call "Saber shin," because of the way it eats the bones if left untreated. Planned Parenthood elected to focus on the eventually fatal nerve damage.

This isn't about "sex shaming". I thought we were talking about hygene and health here.

As someone with both a clotting disorder and a serious penicillin allergy...that is downright terrifying.
