I am reminded of something told to me many years ago. That humanity is a broken race, and that there may come a time that the loss of the ego and the remembering of the true path of the spirit may heal this broken humanity.

Destination of heroes in the sky
A dragon claims the mountain, with a wishful blinking eye
A somewhat reluctant hero, makes a run to do or die
A systematic journey, across a sky of crimson hue
As you wake from this illusion, you wonder was that really you
For every waking moment, there are moments when we fly
Once in every lifetime, comes the moment when we die
Before the trial is over, will we break the secret open
With every breath we squander, we are searching for that token
Once I was a child, with eyes of midnight blue
You were dancing with the wind, trying to break through
It was the breath of winter, that lay across the land
The pleading voice of mercy, kneeling, asking for your hand
Were we ever really innocent, to the pain that holds the day
When did we pass through the portal, and finally loose our way
Will we sing and dance like monsters, before the alter of our greed
Can we break the ties that bind us, to the hollows of true need
Would we know the inner secrets, no demands against the land
Have we taken heed of dreaming saints, calling for a stand
It is lonely by the rivers edge, soft and silent as a dove
Into the east the stars are slowly sinking, falling from above

Time of our lives
I wandered across the ether, seeking something to abide
I was the albatross's partner, floating, drifting on the tide
I came upon a secret place, found I was not the only one with fears
To fall upon the ashes, into the hollow filled with tears
Never have I considered that my life has been in vain
At the appointed moment, I will board my funeral train
The Goddess always sends her gifts, some we may not desire
But every gift she sends, has its reason, even quenching fire
My mind may scream in anger, and my fists may clinch in rage
But I must try to remember still, we are players on a stage
Each ones part is central to the flowing of the time
Each is given time enough, till they are called by Goddess chime
I know that soon, I may be called to that last soliloquy, depart
And perhaps someone will toss flowers, for my inspiring part
But when I finish, and the lights begin to fade, I know tomorrow
I will find myself another role to play, perhaps of love or sorrow
