We love our current house; it's such a blessing after the last house we lived in. But we have neither a place on any of the floors for a shrine or altar (that won't instantly become a cat toy) nor a place for a hanging shrine - well, not in one area, that is.
We gather pictures we like from the internet and print them. We found a store where they had frames for $1-$2 each if you didn't want anything fancy. Now, at each of the "minor" sabbats, we pick a set of pictures to hang throughout the house. The flow of energy between these images - and, naturally, their symbology - create a wonderful, flowing shrine that pervades our home with a lovely web of spirit-forms.

This also made me think, you can buy shelves that just stick out of your wall at IKEA. They kinda just stick out. As long as they are away from spring boards, the cat can't get on them!
