    A hanging shrine... sort of

We love our current house; it's such a blessing after the last house we lived in. But we have neither a place on any of the floors for a shrine or altar (that won't instantly become a cat toy) nor a place for a hanging shrine - well, not in one area, that is.

We gather pictures we like from the internet and print them. We found a store where they had frames for $1-$2 each if you didn't want anything fancy. Now, at each of the "minor" sabbats, we pick a set of pictures to hang throughout the house. The flow of energy between these images - and, naturally, their symbology - create a wonderful, flowing shrine that pervades our home with a lovely web of spirit-forms.

Sounds nice This also made me think, you can buy shelves that just stick out of your wall at IKEA. They kinda just stick out. As long as they are away from spring boards, the cat can't get on them!

That's actually quite a good idea for most folks. Unfortunately, it doesn't work so well for us: besides the cats having several window ledges and cat towers they can spring from, we have a lot of wall space devoted to bookshelves (I think we have about 4,600 books or so).

I know some people have cabinets they hang. Open it up when you want and close it if company or cats threaten. The picture idea is neat though and I wouldn't have thought of it

Wow, that sounds simply splendid. I am still trying to figure out what I want to do in my limited space... It's more difficult than it would seem, isn't it?

That's a really good idea! If I can ever afford to live on my own, I may possibly do this. Or with shelves.
