The eurovision song contest... lots of people in various state of undress... less music. I usually watch it just for a laugh but it's less fun now Denmark got voted off at the semi finals.

Clothing is overrated. Unless there's glitter on it. Or capes. This year it was capes. Like an epic gay superhero musical with lots of broken English and some cleavage. Oh yes, and the music.

Other nights you are silent as death, a mirror in which the stars show themselves. Then I think you want to tell me something, but you never do. Of course I know I have written letters to no-one. But what if I find a trident tomorrow?" ~~Letters to Poseidon, Cees Nooteboom

“We still carry this primal relationship to the Earth within our consciousness, even if we have long forgotten it. It is a primal recognition of the wonder, beauty, and divine nature of the Earth. It is a felt reverence for all that exists. Once we bring this foundational quality into our consciousness, we will be able to respond to our present man-made crisis from a place of balance, in which our actions will be grounded in an attitude of respect for all of life. This is the nature of real sustainability.”

Did Bill Nye say the F word?

That was almost as good as Julie Andrews flashing her tatas in SOB...

Except tatas trump the F word, always.
Every moment of a life is a horrible tragedy, a slapstick comedy, dark nihilism, golden illumination, or nothing at all; depending on how we write the story we tell ourselves.

Uh. I'm watching this clip. It's a good nsfw because of language. And uh...well. This is both horribly sad and horribly terrifying. I can't quite tell evil from mentally effed off your ever loving rails.

Dr Phil short clip interview of boy who killed his mother with a sledge hammer. This is the kind of stuff that terrifies me to the bone. Know that there is a good chance there is absolutely zero chance of reasoning with a person like this. Is this evil? Is this mental illness? Is this just a human being that is royally unable to do human being?

I've recently started watching Doctor Who, the "new" series (the one that started in 2005). I have to admit, I had tried to watch it before and stopped halfway through the first episode because I had decided that the show was utter crap, and I couldn't figure out why everyone raved about it. But now, a year later, I decided to give it another shot, and it's not half bad.
"The streams called Ice-waves, those which were so long come from the fountain-heads that the yeasty venom upon them had hardened like the slag that runs out of the fire, - these then became ice; and when the ice halted and ceased to run, then it froze over above. But the drizzling rain that rose from the venom congealed to rime, and the rime increased, frost over frost, each over the other, even into Ginnungagap, the Yawning Void. Ginnungagap, which faced toward the northern quarter, became filled with heaviness, and masses of ice and rime, and from within, drizzling rain and gusts; but the southern part of the Yawning Void was lighted by those sparks and glowing masses which flew out of Múspellheim. Just as cold arose out of Niflheim, and all terrible things, so also all that looked toward Múspellheim became hot and glowing; but Ginnungagap was as mild as windless air, and when the breath of heat met the rime, so that it melted and dripped, life was quickened from the yeast-drops, by the power of that which sent the heat, and became a man's form. And that man is named Ymir, but the Rime-Giants call him Aurgelimir" - The Gylfaginning

Pulled out Season 1, Part 1, disk 1 of Combat!, the old TV show starring Vick Morrow and Rick Jason. My Dad (the one actually alive when the show was on TV originally) had enjoyed the show when he was younger and introduced my brother and I to it when we were younger. Fun show, it was awesome going back to it. We've been re-watching M*A*S* as well. Next might be Hogan's Heroes. Fantastic shows.

We finished watching season 3 of Vikings a week or two ago. Once I reconnect to Netflix I want to watch more of Marco Polo.
