    Re: Describe your path

What Gods or Pantheon do you believe in?

I believe that many deities and divine beings exist. Although the one I'm devoted to and pray to is the "Supreme Divine", or the creator of the universe. I also believe that there are divine beings or spirits for each season, for plants, animals, etc.

What rituals do you practice and for what purpose?

Nothing too special. I have a little altar where I light candles and burn incense. I decorate it during the sabbats. The purpose? I light the candles and incense to praise and honor the Divine and all creation. I'd like to do more "elaborate" rituals, but I currently don't have the means to do so

Do you believe in the Afterlife or Otherworld?

Absolutely. I believe that many different afterlifes exist and that the state of our souls in this life determine where we go after this life. If you're pure of heart, you go spend a lifetime in what is essentially your idea of "heaven". If you're not, then you spend a lifetime in an afterlife that well...... sucks. I wouldn't exactly call it "hell", but I believe that life will be much worse than the one you currently have

Perhaps the universe we live in now is an afterlife to a previous life, and when we pass away we go on to a new afterlife, and when we pass away in that one we go on to another one and so forth. Like a never ending cycle

What Gods or Pantheon do you believe in?

I currently believe in no deities. I don't know how the universe came to be, but we are in it and I am sure there is more to reality than the physical realm. I am not even sure I believe in spirits, for that matter, not "souls" as such. I believe there are three essences in life: existence, consciousness and life.

1] Existence: The natural world exists, it is the essence most immediate to us and least disconnected (though there are some who are even disconnected from recognizing the natural world in a completely un-spiritual sense). Water and stone is the flesh of the earth just as our bodies are the flesh of our minds, it is what we have, for all intents and purposes, control over.

2] Consciousness: This is something that exists in all beings, whether something is alive or not (ie made of cells that are active to some extent), but is also present in the Earth. I believe there is consciousness in nature such as in waterfalls and rivers, the seas, the wind, caves (the hollow rather than the rock, which is part of the Earth) and fires, just some examples.

3] Life: this is something that exists in specifically living beings. Whilst I believe that all things have consciousness, it is clear that not all has life. A fox which brings a rabbit home for its cubs is definitely more alive than the one that spent its last moments laying beside the road, struck by a car. I don't know what this essence is, it may be a soul, it may just be a type of "energy". To me, this essence is even more poignant than the other two because it is the one which comes into being, then goes, it bridges the chasm between existence and consciousness, for our bodies will exist after our life has ended, but when the life goes it takes the consciousness with it. Where does it go? I don't know yet and I wouldn't want to speculate. I get the feeling though that that is the end. I wouldn't pretend there is an afterlife just to make me feel a little better.

What rituals do you practice and for what purpose?

As I am very new to witchcraft, I do not have any rituals yet. I do not want to just "do things" without any direction or meaning. I believe that the consciousness of the Earth (which is manifested in waterfalls, fires, the healing properties of minerals and rocks etc), which from here on I will call "Animus" (as the consciousness of the Earth is the most important consciousness for all life on Earth, it deserves its own name, which I have just given it but I may change this if I know Earth better), would find it condescending or offensive if I just made it up as I went along, as if it was "all that easy", but then again maybe I am just projecting my own insecurities about being ignorant about things? I need to meditate more and I hope that this will demonstrate that I am "open" and ready to listen. Patience goes a long way. I will find what my calling is and what sort of relationship I will have with Animus. After this I can start practicing rituals, which I am looking forward to.

Do you believe in the Afterlife or Otherworld?

No, but it's still early days. Like I said before I won't tell myself there is an afterlife to make me less scared of death (by the way I'm not suggesting that people who do believe in one are doing this!). I'm not scared of death of the flesh, it is something that happens to everything with life! It's just the way the world works and I've come to terms with that. What happens afterwards, or what happened before, your guess is as good as mine.

I'm not one to ever pray for mercy
Or to wish on pennies in the fountain or the shrine

What Gods do you believe in?
Well I believe in all Gods, but I worship those of Greece. In ancient times, Isocrates said that nowadays people are called Hellenes because they share a culture rather ancestors. For me, that culture is sill the basis of European civilisation.

        What rituals do you practice?
It's evening, so before dinner I'll be off to my altar to offer wine, fruit, incense, and prayers to the household Gods in particular (Hestia, Hekate, Asklepios, and Tyke) and anyone else who might be listening. There are also monthly festivals. This Friday is Aphrodisia, so Aphrodite will get a bunch of roses and a badly sung hymn. I also pray for aid. Last week I asked Asklepios to fix a stiff shoulder. Some time ago I asked Athena to keep the socialists out of government, and she turned up trumps!

Do you believe in the afterlife?
Yes. Bodies decay because of the second lay of thermodynamics, but souls can't wear out. As for the form it will take, I agree with Tom Paine: the Gods have looked after me in this life, so I can trust them to do as much in the next.

          Describe your path
          What are basically your beliefs...

Most basicly, it is 'the way of greatest wisdom', or 'via Sapientissimus'- the way of heeding the wisdom of a deity called 'the cosmic spirit of rightness', whose wisdom is greater than that of any other being, and far greater than that which any humans have previously acquired.

Furthermore, I belong to the small portion of people who have the potential to achieve one of two possible types of 'soul polarization'. I practice all of the methods of soul polarization that the deity has taught me, and consequently I have achieved that potential. That soul polarization allows me to serve the wise guidance of the deity moreso than most people could, and it gives me the potential to attain real magic.

What gods or pantheon do you believe in?

I believe in the existence of the four cosmic powers, which have been shown and described to me in visions that were given to me by one of said cosmic powers- the aforementioned cosmic spirit of rightness. The four cosmic powers include the two 'primary cosmic powers' or 'greater cosmic powers', which underlie and shape the universe, and eternally struggle against eachother, and the two 'secondary cosmic powers', 'lesser cosmic powers', or 'cosmic spirits', which comprise all consciousness, and likewise eternally struggle against eachother.

What rituals do you practice and for what purpose?

In visions, I have been shown sacred group rituals, but the necessary group does not yet exist, so I can not yet practice the rituals. The purpose of the rituals is to draw in a large amount of the spirit of the aforementioned cosmic spirit of rightness into the souls of the participants, so that the participants experience the pleasure of the cosmic spirit flowing through them, and it facilitates one's progress toward stronger magic.

Do you believe in the afterlife or otherworld?

I believe what has been shown and described to me by the deity- that when a person (or other conscious being) dies, one's soul moves out into the broader spirit plane, where it becomes 'digested' and dissolved into oblivion by the chaotic primary cosmic power. By the will of said primary cosmic power, almost all of the spirit plane is in a state of chaos, blindness, and oblivion, rather than orderly states in which coherent souls exist, such as heavens and underworlds, or anything that would allow reincarnation to occur.

I'm still so new to this that I know my answers will change but sometimes that's a good thing, right?
I am a firm believer in the Celtic and Norse pantheons.
I identify as a kitchen witch so my rituals are almost always involving food but I try to do a ritual on every sabbat.
I'm terrified of death so I'm hesitant about thinking about an afterlife but part of me wants to believe in reincarnation in the hopes that I can be reborn and enjoy this life again.
I believe in nature and magic which is why I'm so drawn to Wicca. I see magic in everything and the gods and goddesses are in every aspect of life from the small drop of water to the tallest tree and even in modern technology. There is beauty all around us and visions of magic and the deities in all things and I think that is absolutely beautiful.

What Gods or Pantheon do you believe in?
Still trying to figure this one out. Its big for me. I am certainly moving toward a soft polytheism or duotheism. Goddess worship will be a part of it but the specifics I'm trying to figure out.

What rituals do you practice and for what purpose?

Again still trying figure it out. Some form of prayer, meditation or combination. Incorporating natural/lunar cycles. I strongly believe in cycles.

Do you believe in the Afterlife or Otherworld?

Reincarnation is likely. Other planes perhaps beyond our comprehension.

What Gods or Pantheon do you believe in?
Mainly Baldr, Tyr, and Odin. I'm also interested in Aker and Morrigan. I also had a image of a archer/hunter god named Grofon which I like.

What rituals do you practice and for what purpose?
Nothing really, did meditation before though

Do you believe in the Afterlife or Otherworld?
Of course I do, I believe in the higher planes and realms.

What Gods or Pantheon do you believe in?

A mixture of the Slavic and Norse deities. Stribog, Dazbog, Svarog, Vesna, Jarilo, Morana, Veles, Kupala, Zorya, Perun/Thor, Freyr, Freyja, Odin, Njord, Loki, Tyr.

What rituals do you practice and for what purpose?

I write my own prayers, and meditate.

Do you believe in the Afterlife or Otherworld?

No. I don't deny one exists but I really haven't explored any afterlife belief outside of former Christianity, nor do I feel compelled to one.

What Gods or Pantheon do you believe in?
I believe in all the gods and goddesses but most often work with the seven Sumerian deities who decree fate: An, Ki, Enki, Enlil, Inanna, Nanna, Utu

What rituals do you practice and for what purpose?

I practice the five Lunar rites, the five solar rites and the four agrarian rites. I also practice the rites of passage and the rites of wisdom.

Do you believe in the Afterlife or Otherworld?
There are two in my belief system; the underworld where the body is returned to the earth and the overworld where spirits reside together until they wish to reincarnate.

To put it simply I am a Norse-Marxist-Leninist-Titoist. I guess I am a Democratic Socialist but I was a newspaper distributor for the Revolutionary Communist Party (Maoist), and I feel like I am moving back towards Titoism. I do not pray to Marx, Lenin,or Tito, but I do agree with alot of what they say.

What Gods or Pantheon do you believe in?

Not my cup of tea! I'm an atheist and naturalist ( not naturist! ).

What rituals do you practice and for what purpose?

No rituals at present, but I am exploring, maybe something to do with the elements would be good? I practice meditation, and mysticism in the broad sense. I work with the 6 elements, internally and externally. I also practice mindfulness which involves close observation of experience throughout the day.

Do you believe in the Afterlife or Otherworld?

Nothing definite. Reincarnation seems like a possibility, also perhaps other realms.

Like most of the ancient pagans I believe in all pantheons. The gods that serve the same function are just called by different names and those that serve different functions are gods that one culture has found and others have not. As for the different temperaments those often occur in the experiences of people within a single pantheon. I practice ritual to celebrate the four lunar quarters first and then the solar quarters followed last by the agrarian solar medians. I do believe in an afterlife because while the matter that my body is made of is returned to the universe the energy that is my spirit lives on with its own consciousness.
