    Olde Winter Dinner - Recipe

    Hello fellows!
I thought I would share an old fashioned humble dinner recipe(s) that's been around in my family for some years. It consists of a stew, salad, and loaf.

    Lamb Stew:
    Ingredients-
    1 1/2 lbs. Lamb shoulder
    1 tbsp. Salad oil
    1/2 cup chopped celery
    1/2 cup minced parsley
    2 tsp. Salt
    1/2 tsp. Rosemary
    1/2 tsp. Ginger
    1 doz. small onions, peeled
    4 small carrots
1/4 cup flour & 1/4 cup water, mixed

    Method-
Cut meat into 1 1/2 inch pieces and brown in salad oil (or oil of choice). Add chopped celery, parsley, salt, rosemary, ginger, onions and carrots to 4 cups of water. Cover and let simmer for an hour.

    Radish-Onion Salad:
    Ingredients-
    4 Radishes sliced thin
    1/4 cucumber sliced thin
1 cup sprouts (Brussels or others wise)
    1/2 cup cottage cheese
    1/2 cup yogurt

    Method-
Mix vegetables and spouts and combine with cheese mixture. Moisten with yogurt.

    Baked Fish Loaf:
    Ingredients-
    1/2 cup milk
    1 egg, beaten
    1/2 cup whole wheat flour
    3 tbsp. Soy flour
    1/4 cup soybeans, roasted, ground
    2 cups fish, cooked, flaked
    1 tsp. Dulse, minced
    3 tbsp. Nutritional yeast
    1/4 tsp. Ground nutmeg
    1/2 grated cheddar cheese

    Method-
Blend everything thoroughly. Turn into oiled loaf pan and bake at 350 degrees for an hour, until the loaf is firm. Can be served hot or cooled.

    Enjoy!
