Re: Whatcha thinking about now? (v2)

I think we have a visiting District Manager. I'm moderately confused by this since DMs generally only appear if a GM is here to meet them and I haven't seen my GM. I also have a burning desire to close the office door that was left open but correcting my GM's boss on policy is probably not good for my continued employment...
life itself was a lightsaber in his hands; even in the face of treachery and death and hopes gone cold, he burned like a candle in the darkness. Like a star shining in the black eternity of space.

    Yoda: Dark Rendezvous

"But those men who know anything at all about the Light also know that there is a fierceness to its power, like the bare sword of the law, or the white burning of the sun." Suddenly his voice sounded to Will very strong, and very Welsh. "At the very heart, that is. Other things, like humanity, and mercy, and charity, that most good men hold more precious than all else, they do not come first for the Light. Oh, sometimes they are there; often, indeed. But in the very long run the concern of you people is with the absolute good, ahead of all else..."

John Rowlands, The Grey King by Susan Cooper

"You come from the Lord Adam and the Lady Eve", said Aslan. "And that is both honour enough to erect the head of the poorest beggar, and shame enough to bow the shoulders of the greatest emperor on earth; be content."

Aslan, Prince Caspian by CS Lewis

I'm settled in Minnesota. I've had 2 if the 5 embalmings I need, and a week until they're due. Which is amazing. Another one coming in today or tomorrow. I can't wait.

I wondered if he could ever understand that it was a blessing, not a sin, to be graced with more than one love.
It could be complicated; of course it could be complicated. And it opened one up to the possibility of more pain and loss.
Still, it was a blessing I would never relinquish. Love, genuine love, was always a cause for joy.

I hate dealing with updating my shop and I wish I had the extra money to just pay someone to do this for me, because this is the most obnoxious part of running my own business :ffff::frustrated: I just wanna go make the stuff and go to cons and sell it, but I don't have another show confirmed until March.

My Granny is seriously ill. They think she might be losing her mind. We don't know how long we will have her. I hope we can see her soon.

I think it was someone on here that shared a poem a couple years ago when I was struggling with pet loss. It was something about why you should never love a dog, never a get a dog, something. But it turned around on itself. It was really beautiful and moving and FB searches are turning up nothing and I would really like to find it again. I did try searching our site, and couldn’t find it either. Ideas?

It doesn't sound familiar. I know there is The Rainbow Bridge poem. That really brings me comfort when I think of my babies that have passed. However, that is not the one I think you are searching for.

I finally found it. I was thinking of Power of the Dog by Rudyard Kipling. It kept me up last night. I couldn’t remember any of the actual verses, and was thinking it actually said something about not buying a dog, but that’s not the wording used.

                        Very cool.

I saw Joker yesterday. I liked it a lot. It was very sad though. It's not how you would think the Joker's story would turn out. I think it was a very good film nonetheless.

Today, I went to a friends for Thanksgiving. It marked my 11th one in a row with them. The grandchildren are teenagers and above now. One of the boys has an actual mullet and wants to get it permed. I wanted to laugh but they were serious...

The other thing on my mind today is the movie "The Irishman" - fabulous! It's long, but not for one moment did I lose interest. Joe Pesci is top notch, and everyone else is, too. The actress who played Lois in Goodfellas is in it. (Lois was the drug mule near the end, when Henry was seeing helicopters and making sauce, who wouldn't fly without her hat.)

Went out to do some shopping yesterday. I didn't go all out crazy with buying. There were so many people out on the roads. It was really crazy. I'm going to check out some deals online later today. Black Friday is a crazy day. Anyone else do some Black Friday shopping?
